PepsiCo - sustainability report
Over twelve years into its flagship sustainability approach, Performance with Purpose, PepsiCo felt it needed to reach beyond a niche “in-the-know” audience and reconnect with the mainstream. The global food and drinks giant wanted a more vibrant, more engaging, more accessible and less technical report – without sacrificing rigor or data.
PepsiCo makes great-tasting, feel-good food and drinks. We thought its sustainability communications should reflect that.
By combining real-world photography with hand-drawn illustrations, PepsiCo’s 2017 Sustainability Report came to life. Designed and formatted for digital first, the report caters to ‘paddlers’ who browse at a shallow but broad level, ‘swimmers’ who consume more in-depth, and ‘divers’ who need detailed information on narrow topics. We slashed the page count by 50% and introduced engaging infographics while still catering for the ESG experts with standalone downloads including a data table and GRI Index.
Qualitative response has been exceptional with internal responses including: “absolutely delighted with it”, “looks incredible” and “leagues improved from last year’s output”.
