Old Mutual wins 'Best Online Report - FTSE 100' at the IR Society awards
The awards keep on coming... last week Old Mutual Group scooped the Investor Relations Society award for 'Best Digital Reporting - FTSE100' at the IR Society Annual Best Practice Awards. This followed the gold award won at the recent Digital Impact Awards.
Now in their 16th year, the awards are open to all companies that wish to demonstrate their commitment to leading investor communications. This year’s awards saw over 170 entries.
In a pivotal year for Old Mutual Group, with the arrival of a new CEO and the communication of its future direction following a high profile strategic review, the online report was a key channel for communicating the business – from historic performance to its role in society to its future.
Influenced by analytical evidence, the online report was designed and built as a visual storytelling platform to reach a wide, geographically dispersed, range of stakeholders. Using appropriate visual formats to articulate key messages for each area of the site, a mix of video, animation and infographics helped bring the company, its customers, its leadership and its role in Africa to life.
Combined with a comprehensive amplification campaign on social media, the online report has seen a significant uplift in traffic compared with previous years, reaching audiences in the regions that matter – from the UK to Africa. The reporting content and creative assets were then used throughout Old Mutual’s digital world to bring consistent messaging and look and feel to their communications.
The judges described Old Mutual 2015 online report as 'engaging, ambitious and ultimately, effective online reporting. What stood out for the judges was the way the company brought the annual report to life and managed to successfully address strategic changes while remembering wider stakeholders.'
