The screen is a magic medium
Paths of Glory, Spartacus, Dr Strangelove, The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Whether you’re a fan of the American film director Stanley Kubrick or not you will most likely have heard of his acclaimed films (or even seen them). Stanley Kubrick had a unique style. He didn’t stick to one genre, he covered them all. Whether that be science fiction, costume drama, comedy, horror, war movie or a historical epic and although his films never seemed to fit the same mould you can look at any still from a Kubrick directed film and know that it’s one of his.
Kubrick famously said,
‘the screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.’
This remains true to this day. We now rely more than ever on storytelling through video to engage with audiences. As we work harder to stay connected in business, film allows you to break through these physical barriers and visually communicate your message.
Kubrick is also coincidentally the name of one of our meeting rooms in London. We chose this name as a nod to the influential director and his commitment to cinematography. If you find yourself in need of advice on engaging with your audiences through film, then we can help. In the words of Stanley Kubrick,
“if it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed.”
