What is the future of the intranet?

Join us for a breakfast event on 30th May to explore how to add value to your organisation with your intranet.

Emails, Workplace, Yammer, newsletters, townhall briefings, matrix management – employee cognitive overload is reaching critical levels and costing companies in productivity, staff development and ultimately staff retention.

The very definition of the word ‘intranet’ is changing significantly. In the past, our collective experience with the intranet was so poor that the word ‘intranet’ dredged up the idea of an unloved, clunky corporate portal where employees occasionally got alerts about changes to their insurance policies, made changes to their holiday plans or got updates on the company’s stock price.

That was then. Expectations have changed.

So what is the future of the intranet?

The best intranet is simply one that makes your employees' working life easier.

It is a tool that can help you build and share knowledge, a tool that helps your employees complete important tasks, a tool that will ultimately improve corporate culture. A good intranet provides useful content, a great intranet communicates personally, visually and socially. And that requires great, intuitive design and clever personalisation. Employees will only see the news, updates, tasks and conversations that are relevant to them. Which is why they come back.

Join us at our upcoming workshop on 30th May to explore how to add value to your organisation with your intranet through:

  • What an intranet should have and must do
  • How to mitigate cognitive overload and focus on what’s important
  • How to align HR, IT, and employees to create a self-service system that works and is right for you
  • How to ensure usability and core quality with your intranet
  • The essential questions you need to ask in order to understand your end user and create a list of base features.
