The new site — www.tescoplc.com — was redesigned from the ground up to provide a broad overview of the Tesco business, focusing on its 92-year heritage and breadth of operations across 14 countries. MerchantCantos delivered a site with updated functionality and a unique consumer design aesthetic.
The site’s investor relations section includes a wealth of information and tools for both institutional and private investors, including share price graphs, total shareholder return and RNS feeds. New LookIR Best Practice Awards Award for the best annual report by an unlisted entity
Merchant has won the award for the best annual report by an unlisted entity for its work on New Look’s annual report and accounts at the IR Society Best Practice Awards, recognising best practice in investor communications.
Privately-owned New Look wanted a best in class annual report, showcasing both print and online versions to a wide audience. Merchant developed a ‘New Look in 10’ facts and figures booklet for the front of the report to provide readers with a quick snapshot and overview of key highlights, clearly and concisely explaining the key differentiators and growth drivers of the business.
Merchant also advised the group on how to introduce some best practice approaches to the report, including an in-depth market report and detailed strategy section. The online version used video content, such as CEO interviews, film clips, links to New Look TV on YouTube, and video insights into some of the stores.

O3b NetworksDigital Impact Awards 2010Winner: Best use of digital in a change or brand transformation situation
Merchant has won the gold medal for ‘Best use of digital in a change or brand transformation situation’ for its work on O3b Networks’ corporate website at the first ever Digital Impact Awards, established by Communicate Magazine in celebration of the best in digital stakeholder communications.
O3b Networks is a next generation satellite network, created to provide broadband internet to emerging markets – ‘the other 3 billion’, hence O3b. Merchant was brought on board to redesign and build a new corporate website, creating a new look and feel that would distinguish O3b from its peer group, while appealing to both investors and employees.
With only a logo and no other structured brand guidelines or marketing collateral in place, Merchant worked with the management team based in Dubai, Nigeria and the US to deliver a new website, incorporating rich media and video within six weeks of the brief – and one week before the deadline.
The result was so well received that the brand was replicated across all of O3b’s literature and online presences. Merchant has since been asked to deliver a range of new literature, advertising and additional video content following the success of the new website.
